Gitzo GM2542 Series 2, 4 Section Carbon eXact Monopod
The Gitzo GM2542 Series 2 Monopod is a slim, ultra-lightweight 4-section carbon fibre monopod built for the ultimate portability and stability. Its Carbon eXact tubing maximises strength, keeping weight to an absolute minimum. The GM2542 is a professional solution that securely supports an impressive 30 kg load, yet weighs a feather-light 510 grams. The G-Lock Ultra system makes the tubing even stronger by rigidly connecting the leg sections, protecting joints from moisture and dirt.
The monopod reaches a height of 164 cm and features a handy, reversible 1/4" and 3/8" mounting thread for attaching various types of cameras, lenses, and heads. It folds down to just 54 cm and is easy to pack or strap to a backpack for day and overnight hikes.
The GM2542's base features an innovative rubber foot with a pivoting ball joint for a smooth movement that is perfect for capturing moving subjects. The foot can be removed when necessary and replaced with optional feet or metal spikes. The monopod also features Gitzo's signature ergonomic hand grip and a removable wrist strap for increased security.

Carbon eXact
Revolutionary Carbon eXact tubes are even stiffer to maximize rigidity and image stability. Carbon eXact optimizes the fibre composition for each tube size, using HM (High Modulus) carbon fibre in the narrower tubes to make them stiffer. The tube diameters are also optimized: the final leg section of a 4 section Series 1 tripod is now 22.5% thicker than its predecessor.
G-Lock Ultra
The G-lock system has been redesigned from the inside out; G-lock Ultra is smoother and softer to use, and is designed to reduce dust and grit from getting in.
